Crashing with Adam (Smooth Sailing)

Thursday, May 29th, 2014

As we move toward a summation of our crash with Adam, we cannot help but to be impressed by the presence of cooperation that God put in the world. Even as early as the time of the interaction with the serpent, cooperation was involved in our encounter with other beings. For instance; think about how this meeting would have gone in the modern day.

Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

(Genesis 3:1-5)

In the modern day, we would have anticipated the type of environment that was established later; in which, there was no possibility of cooperation . . .

Crashing with Adam (Order and Orders)

Thursday, May 8th, 2014

The dynamic between Eve and Adam is truly inspiring. They seem to work well with one another, in their designated portions of the development of the kingdom of man. As I look at them, I do not see the kind of tension that besets many of the modern couples–married, and otherwise. This may be because; they are at the point of our existence, at which, we had fewer diversions from the majesty of the LORD God. It also may have helped that, they endured this little matter of seasoning of their worship attitude.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

(Genesis 3:6-7)

I imagine that; that particular strike against their simplicity was enough to cause them to lean much more on the LORD God. It also might have helped that; in this matter of basic protection, the LORD God showed Himself faithful and strong: Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. (Genesis 3:21)

Crashing with Adam (Collective Responsibility)

Thursday, April 17th, 2014

In the early record of Genesis, we see the significant weight of the work that Adam was assigned.  Among that work was; for him to control the various creatures that existed in the Garden.  This is similar to the rigor that must have been a part of Noah’s life, as he prepared this new container for the creatures . . .

And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.  Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.  A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

(Genesis 6:13-16)

. . . So that, Noah would be ready to control them, as the LORD gave him this assignment.

Crashing with Adam (Family Values)

Thursday, March 27th, 2014

Family Values:  this starts on a rocky roadway for the Grands:  Adam and Eve, and the first uncles of ours.  In that beginning, there was some doubt about Adam’s ability to shoulder responsibility.  It seemed that, Adam was more interested in delegating his rightful duties to others.  We see him doing that, here.

And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

(Genesis 3:9-12)

Also; in the rocky beginning of the Grands, the portion that was assigned to Eve did not receive good reviews.  Not only is this apparent by the reaction that came from the LORD, but it also carries through time; so as, to result in observations such as this one, of a certain servant of God.

Crashing with Adam (Wear and Tear)

Thursday, March 6th, 2014

My Grand dad and I have been jarred by the sight of a great detriment to the family of adam (mankind).  This is impressed on us, as we see the following happening.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

(Genesis 6:4)

From the outside, this seems to be an innocent enough thing.  However; under the cover, we know that this sets mankind up for its first disenchantment.  The disenchantment is in the fact that; with the recognition of giants, also comes the possibility of bestowing esteem.  Along with the possibility of bestowing esteem comes the possibility of practicing human elevation.  From that point, we can start to move philosophical things to a position at which they will need this caution applied to them.

Crashing with Adam (Setting a Pace)

Thursday, February 13th, 2014

Here I am, listening to the engine of life revving.  My Grand dad and I are starting to move in a kind of rhythm of life.  It seems that I made it through that time when, I brought this matter to mind . . .

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.  And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

(Genesis 3:21-24)

Now, my Grand dad has decided that I needed to be immersed in the will of the LORD for him, as in him being a father.  This is what he has in mind.

Crashing with Adam (Revving the Engine)

Thursday, January 23rd, 2014

The Premier Human Relationship–Adam and Eve–was not set in existence as by some accident, or, even, an arbitrary incident.  The Relationship did not spring fresh from nothingness . . . though; from our present perspective, we may assume that it must have.  In the present day, we account this relationship’s origin as coming from the god named, evolution.  But, the god named, evolution, has its origin in its maker.  We submit that; evolution’s maker is The Maker–or, more succinctly:  God.  We will use this designation, God, along with this other one:  the LORD.  This is, for us, our base assumption.  It is an assumption that has no possibility of proof; for, it operates in this other construct of reality.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  For by it the elders obtained a good report.  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

(Hebrews 11:1-6)

We attribute to God, the attribute of Personality; wherefore, we indicate that, God will commune with us.  Obviously, this communion cannot be subject to our terms.  Instead, this communion is orchestrated by God Itself.  By the way:  because we will rely on the Bible; therefore, the preceding neutral reference to God is the only gender neutral personal specification that we will apply to God, as we continue sharing our image of crashing with Adam.  In respect for the Bible, and to make it personal; we will refer to God in the masculine.  This is in keeping with this representation of His Self that is embedded in the following piece of the LORD’S communion with Israel.

Crashing with Adam (the distant son arrives)

Thursday, January 2nd, 2014

“Really Grand dad, I’m home,” I said, as I entered the area.

Eve looked at me, grabbed my beard, and said, “Welcome, son.”

Adam looked at her, snapped a glare at me, and then expressed, without words, “And when did I do this?”  At this time, he was referring to me, somewhat menacingly.

I must have caught Eve at a very good moment because, she came to my defense.  “Adam, honey; you do remember saying this; don’t you?”

And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

(Genesis 3:20)

Adam shook his head; indicating, yes.  Though, Adam still had the look of, “So what does that have to do with anything.”
