Putting words into the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ: Part Five (Benedictory)

Jesus is our pattern of excellence, as in a way that is, us–magnified.  We, humans, need him to be as we are:  Jesus is the image of that truth; in that, he is the Son of man.  If Jesus is not as we are; then, we have no ready way to flow to God, as in the image of the Christ.  We need this pattern of the Christ because, there is no other choice . . . as presented here; Jesus declared that, he is the way . . .

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

(John 14:1-7)

. . . Moreover, the apostle Paul delivered the message that tells us what is at the end of that way.

Putting words into the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ: Part Four (Manipulation)

Old Testament Scripture provides a wealth of clarification of the essence of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ; as distinct from the manifestation of God as the LORD God, the Father, as overarching all things.  In the genesis of the New Age, the clarification of that distinction is augmented by the words of others of the ambassadors of the LORD; as received in, revelation from God.  Herein, we borrow from the revelation of one of the very public ambassadors of the LORD, of that day.  First, here is the ambassador’s certification.

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:  Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.  Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.  But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother.

(Galatians 1:15-18)

In the following, we present the revelation that the apostle Paul received about the independence of the Son of God.

Putting words into the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ: Part Three (Erudition)

The duality of manifestation that is within Jesus Christ is separate, in its representation, from the Unity of Being.  Store this event in your consciousness . . .

And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me.

And all the people came near unto him.

And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.  And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:  And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

And he said, Do it the second time.

And they did it the second time.

And he said, Do it the third time.

And they did it the third time.

And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.  Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

(1 Kings 18:30-37)

. . . That is a prelude to historical identification of two methods by which the Unity of Being might introduce Its Self:  demonstration, and, testimony.

Putting words into the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ: Part Two (Delusion)

I am sitting here, thinking about the mission that I seem to have been given.  My thought is not a positive one.  The question that plagues my mind is this:  just how far does the following Scripture stretch?

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

(2 Thessalonians 2:7-10)

I am wondering; how many of the four, or more, billion not-professing-Christianity individuals that Scripture touches?  There is, too, a quieter, but, more troubling, thought, which is inspired by this question:  What will be the signs of those who “received not the love of the truth“?  Does this mean anyone who does not . . .

Meditating on the Bible

Acts 17:22-31

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said,

Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.  For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:  For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

In many parts of the church of Christ, we have taken a quantum assumptive leap, in putting words into the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Most commonly, we do this because; we want to give Jesus an elevated prestige.  According to our logic, this is prestige that is his duly earned right; as according to our perception of, his due.  We cannot blame this on the original spectators of the dawn of the New Age; for, they lived with the following thought as the center of their existence.
